Life in Dubai Marina: Pros and Cons
When I first moved to Dubai, I lived in an apartment in JBR, right across from Dubai Marina Mall. It was the perfect setup for a single professional — chic hotspots everywhere, great energy, and did I mention it was only a 10‑minute walk to the beach?
Marina has evolved a lot since then, but the lifestyle remains unique. Below is a quick look at the pros and cons of living in Dubai Marina:
Pros
Dubai Marina
• Breathtaking views of the Marina, the Palm, Ain Dubai, and even Emirates Hills Golf Course (depending on your building’s location).
• No need for a car. The tram connects directly to the metro, making it easy to reach Downtown without spending a dirham on petrol.
• Everything is within walking distance — the beach, restaurants, cafés, mini markets, and more.
Cons
• Traffic on D94 and the surrounding streets can be challenging, even on weekends.
• Despite several playgrounds and promenades, there’s a noticeable lack of greenery.
So if you’re considering a move to Marina, choose the right building and work with the right agency.
Happy to help.
